G'day!

My heart has always been for people. The more I relate to my loving Heavenly Father, the more I understand the "why" behind this passion. I would be honored to share this journey of discovery with you - whether through my book or in person.

My Story

When I look back over my life, my heart is filled with gratitude. My story has been shaped by family, friendships, experiences, and opportunities for learning, but above all, it has been authored by the One who gives life. Nothing would be possible without God’s goodness - His sovereignty, His gentle leading, and even His necessary discipline through both seasons of joy and times of struggle.

I was born in Australia to godly parents and grew up alongside two siblings. My childhood included the unique privilege of living in Jakarta, Indonesia, where I attended high school. Returning to Australia, I began a career as a radiation therapist, caring for cancer patients in Sydney, Vancouver, and Brisbane. Yet over time, I sensed a deeper call - to care not only for the physical needs of patients, but also for their hearts and spirits. This led me back to school, where I completed a Master of Counselling at Christian Heritage College in Brisbane before returning to Canada.

That move opened unexpected doors. I had the privilege of serving as a pastor, working as a clinical counsellor in private practice, and eventually returning to oncology, this time supporting the psycho-social needs of patients and their families. Feeling a strong prompting to grow in theology and leadership, I went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Theology at Summit Pacific College and later a Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership. These studies paved the way for chaplaincy roles - first as a chaplain with a Canadian Army reserve unit (yes, for a time I was Captain Abrahams!) and now as a corporate chaplain, serving the employees of Alliance Door Products Canada.

All of these experiences have brought me to this moment - standing alongside Leah, the protagonist of my book, and declaring with her: “This time I will praise the Lord” (Genesis 29:35). As you read my journey, it is here that our lives intersect. My prayer for you is that, in time, this declaration will become your heart’s cry as well.
